Dua After Tashahhud (Before Salam)
A short supplication recited before the final Salam that ends the prayer.
When Is This Dua Recited?
After completing Tashahhud and Durood-e-Ibrahim in the final sitting, it is a well-established Sunnah to recite this dua seeking refuge from four specific trials, before turning the head to give Salam and end the prayer.
What Does It Protect Against?
This supplication asks Allah for protection from the punishment of Hell, the punishment of the grave, the trials faced during life and at the moment of death, and the widespread trial associated with the Dajjal (the False Messiah) described in Islamic teachings about the end times.
Adding Personal Dua
After this supplication, a worshipper may also add any personal dua in their own words or language, asking Allah for anything good in this life or the next, before concluding the prayer with Salam.
