O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad, as You sent blessings upon Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim; indeed You are Praiseworthy, Glorious. O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad, as You blessed Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim; indeed You are Praiseworthy, Glorious.

When Is Durood-e-Ibrahim Recited?

Durood-e-Ibrahim (also called As-Salatu 'ala an-Nabi) is recited immediately after Tashahhud (Attahiyat) in the final sitting of every prayer, before the closing supplication and Salam.

What Does It Mean?

The dua asks Allah to send blessings and honor upon Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and his family, comparing it to the blessings sent upon Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) and his family — linking the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ to the legacy of earlier prophets.

Why Send Blessings on the Prophet?

The Quran instructs believers to send blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ (Surah Al-Ahzab 33:56), and reciting Durood is considered a means of drawing closer to Allah and expressing love and gratitude for the Prophet's guidance.
